Some questions about rubygame

Postby Zhadius » Tue Apr 19, 2011 1:43 am

Hi. Well, I was creating a game on RPG Maker VX(which uses RGSS library) and reached a importatnt part of the project, when I start the interactions between the user and the game, movement, text input, these things.
And I wanted to move my project out of RPG Maker, since I'm creating it only in ruby (not using RPG maker's tools), and saw Rubygame but I have some questions about it.
• I wanted to make it closed source, there are tools for it with Rubygame?
• To run a game made with Rubygame I have to install rubygame and the others programs?
• I've seen someone complaining about fps, it's realy a trouble with ruby game?

Thank you for your attention.

10 days passed and no aswer, and little views. I guess It's not a 'active' community at all...

You didn't get a answer because your questions are typical google questions.

Things you need to run a game can you discover in the installation manuals
Windows: http://gamedevgeek.com/tutorials/gettin ... -rubygame/
Linux: http://rubygame.org/wiki/Linux_Installation_Guide

Create closed source applications with ruby via bytecode: http://rubini.us/
If you use google you can find alternative possibilities.

I don't think that you will have problems with fps. Where do you get that information?

First, thank you for answering.
I've seen a topic about a guy saying that, but since there's no problem, it's okay =)

Thanks, again! :D
