It’s hosted on Google Groups, so you can treat it as either a forum or a mailing list, whichever you prefer.

These forums will be archived beginning next Saturday, 2011-07-23. See the recent post on the blog, "The New Rubygame.org", for information about why the forums are being archived.

The archival process will take place in two steps:

  1. The forums will be made read-only on 2011-07-23. No new posts will be allowed on or after that date. The forum database will be backed up and preserved offline.
  2. Some time after 2011-07-23, the forums software (phpBB) will be taken offline. Posts that are of lasting value (as judged by me) to the Rubygame community will be preserved on the web site for posterity. Other posts will no longer be available online.
The following alternatives are available to replace some of the uses of the forums:

After the forums close, there will no longer be any non-realtime discussion/support venue for Rubygame. But, I will create a new mailing list for that, if at least one person volunteers to moderate the list and deal with spam. If you are willing to do that, contact me at jacius@rubygame.org.

(game and code comments are in polish (for accurancy - polish is name of language) and if u like to read it in english, write here and i translate it fast with my broken english. or use google translator...)

One minor issue: I had to edit the source to get it to run, because you're using YAML without ever explicitly loading it. You can fix that by adding this line somewhere near the start of init.rb:

autoload :YAML, 'yaml'

Other than that, it's looking good. Let us know when the next version is ready! :D

I apologise for the graphics. (Tom's going to kill me for saying that :D)

All the code is released under GPL v3 so feel free to have a look.

Could you all please tell me what you think and I will be posting updates as I make them.

How to install/run:

install the 'rubygame' gem and all of it's dependencies.
install the 'chipmunk-ffi' gem.

Controls:

Left/Right: Roll left and right
Space (hold to charge): do a super jump next time you land.
