your tutorials are very good.
The only thing that I'd change is handling events (new eventhandler and magic hooks instead of the old one). Shame you didn't use sprites because they're pretty hard to understand for a newbie.
Other than that you did an exceptional work. Thx man.

I'm happy you like 'em! :) And you're welcome!

Yeah, true, true, I was going to get to new-style events later on, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.
As for sprites, I still don't know how to use them :P Don't hurt me jacius!

So for a while now I've been working on video tutorials for Rubygame over at http://manwithcode.com/making-games-with-ruby/. They aren't done yet, and I wasn't going to say anything about them until they were done, except I have stopped working on them, and I figured instead of just letting 'em sit there, I'd announce them and let them be used for what they're worth.

There are only three videos at the moment, and to be completely honest, they suck, but they do get you from zero to a black window, which is pretty cool I think. But more importantly, there are text versions of the tutorials I haven't recorded, over here: http://devel.manwithcode.com/making-games-with-ruby.html. The text version takes you from zero to a Pong game with sound, a title screen, options screen, etc. and all sorts of other goodies. The tutorial was going to go further, into things like distributing your games, etc. but as I said, I'm not working on the tutorial any more.

Well, I hope this is useful to someone! :)

Tyler
